I am a Black Sake Cup. I may be opaque, but I don't mean to be complicated. I've got only one goal which is to enjoy a good drink.

Curator's Notes 

Sugahara is already well known for its innovative glassware, but this set of and sake cup takes it to the next level. As with all Sugahara designs, these glass pieces are individually blown and hand-finished. However, the matte finishing gives the pieces the illusion of ceramic, and the opacity helps protect sake from the effects of sunlight. The simple shapes add to the stark, and seemingly contradictory, beauty of this set, which is sure to be a conversation starter over drinks with friends and guests.
